American Cocker Spaniel spaniel means “Spanish dog” the breed is from Spain. The smallest sport breed according to AKC. The dens and long coat, beloved companion, sound temperament, small in size, fit for apartments and small houses. Highly trainable to do small works and very adaptable to the house environment. Long coat needs comb every day & groom occasionally. Long ears are both beautiful and problematic, which can cause ear infection, requires checking every week. Cocker is a playmate loves to play and likes brisk walk with the owner. Cocker wants nothing only the happiness of his family.
Cocker is from Spain found in the 1800s, AKC registered Coker in 1892. There were 2 breeds one was toy the small sport dog and other was slighter tall for that was used for hunting. At present, there are two breeds famous. American and English coker. American cocker is litter little taller than English cocker but same in appearance. Cocker remained at most popular breed for almost 30 years, now cocker is under 15 most popular breed according to American Kennel Club.
